In an area zoned primary for artists studios in Montreuil, the atelier converted an abandoned office space into a combined flat and artist studio. The main problem was to conduct an adequate amount of natural light into the space. This was solved by an intricate system of white walls which reflects light and helps to create an architectural rhythm of the interior space. Different room functions are articulated by colour coded doors and floors that induce a form of “user logic” which does not encroach upon the general architectural features.
